Man Utd 5-2 Tottenham
i just can't keep myself calm after watching this amazing match. my word. what a superb comeback from Man Utd. very very similar to what we did in 01-02 season against the same team. we were 3-0 down at the halftime but scoring 5 goals in the second half secured the win with dramatic fashion. tonight, we did it again! it was very entertaining and satisfying especially there were some liverpool fans watching the match as well. i am very very happy to see those scousers reaction when berba scored the 5th. LOL
Man Utd has got decent chances to open the scoring in the first half but those chances goes bagging. it was darren bent who scored the first goal of the match. poor defending from ferdinand and vidic and bent capitalised it. that shouldn't be the second for spurs as rafael let modric free of defender and score from close distance.
good change by ferguson as he brought up tevez replacing nani at the beginning of the second half. tevez was the better player compare to nani as he can hold up the ball and put pressure on the opponent defense. then the referee awarded a penalty to Man Utd. it wasn't a perfect decision as the goalkepper did make a slight contact with the ball. anyway, ronaldo kept his cool and slotted home the penalty with confidence. i personally thinks that ronaldo has improved on his penalty taking skill as he choosen the centre instead of bottom left, his favourite to make that goal happened. just after 10 minutes, wayne rooney scored the equaliser. he took up the good pass from tevez and squeezed it through gomes who has failed to stop the shot. 1 minute later, wayne rooney assisted ronaldo by a superb cross in the box and the ball connected with the diving header of the world's best player. 3-2 up! Rooney scored again in the 71th minute. the ball just crossed the goalline as woodgate can't manage to keep it out. a comfortable 4-2 lead. then, berbatov added the fifth which was set up by rooney. again, it's the spurs defensive mistake. the goalkeeper can't get a firm catch on the ball and left berba to scramble it towards to net.
Magical comeback from Man Utd. comparing this performance with liverpool vs arsenal 8 goals thriller, i truly believe that this season title is gonna be at old trafford again.
